A new infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) of the Chinese army with an active protection system (APS) capable of shooting down drones and missiles was spotted during transportation. The photos went viral online.
The tracked vehicle was filmed during transportation on a trailer. The combat module of the IFV was covered with a tarpaulin. The small size of the structure may indicate the use of a large-caliber machine gun instead of a cannon.
It is likely that eyewitnesses spotted an airborne armored personnel carrier (APC) created on the basis of the IFV. The vehicle can be considered an analogue of the Russian BTR-MDM "Rakushka."
In the front of the hull, there are movable launchers of the APS with protective ammunition that destroy incoming targets. At the corners of the hull are radars for detecting anti-tank missiles, drones, and grenades.
The BTR-MDM "Rakushka" amphibious multi-purpose armored personnel carriers are designed to transport up to 13 personnel, ammunition, and POL as part of airborne units in various climates and in all conditions of combat use.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the modernized BMP-2M surpassed the American Bradley in firing range by two times.
