The crew of the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system (OTRK) won a duel with the American Patriot anti-aircraft missile system (SAM). The footage has gone viral on the Web.
The video shows that the Patriot is located in a small clearing in the forest belt. A reconnaissance drone transmitted the target designation to the Iskander-M, after which the crew made an accurate shot.
Iskander-M is used to destroy enemy air defense systems, as well as other important objects at a maximum range of up to 500 km.
The Iskander-M ammunition range includes concrete-piercing, high-explosive fragmentation, incendiary, cluster and nuclear charges. The system's missiles are guided to the target via a satellite system, while the homing head operates autonomously in the final section.
