Major Update: Paid Messages Arrive on Telegram

Telegram has announced a major update. The messenger now allows you to filter messages, set a price for them, and earn stars.

The system allows you to make sending messages a paid feature for users who are not in your contact list. The setting is also available in groups and for comments in channels.

A flexible settings system is provided for paid messages. You can allow individual users or members of certain groups to write to you for free. If necessary, users can easily reimburse stars to the interlocutor. The function can be activated with an active Telegram Premium subscription in the menu "Settings" > "Privacy" > "Messages."

The update also includes the ability to obtain information about new interlocutors. If a message comes from a stranger, an information block with basic information about the interlocutor (country, common groups, and date of registration on Telegram) will be displayed in the chat.

Users can now purchase a Telegram Premium subscription for "Stars", fully paying for it for themselves or as a gift. The innovation allows you to exchange stars for rewards through the Fragment platform.

Group owners can now view and manage their "Stars" balance directly in the group profile. Other changes include the ability to pin up to 6 gifts in the profile and stream video via Chromecast from the Android app.
