The VTB team has launched a new feature that allows customers to independently restore access to "VTB Online" using a bank card with an NFC chip. Now, simply bring the card to a smartphone running Android 6.0 or later to restore or unlock your personal account.
Previously, many customers had to contact a bank branch, find an ATM, or call the contact center to do this. Now the procedure has become much more convenient and faster.
Nikita Chugunov, Senior Vice President of VTB, emphasized that the new technology is secure — fraudsters will not be able to access the account without a physical card, even if they have its details. The ability to unlock via NFC was previously available to customers who had blocked their profile themselves. Now this method also works for access recovery, reducing the risk of fraud and simplifying the customer experience.
