The VTB team has launched a new function that allows customers to independently restore access to VTB Online using a bank card with an NFC chip. Now, simply bring the card to a smartphone running Android 6.0 or later to restore or unlock your personal account.
Previously, many customers had to contact a bank office, look for an ATM, or call the contact center to do this. Now the procedure has become much more convenient and faster.
Senior Vice President of VTB Nikita Chugunov emphasized that the new technology is safe — fraudsters will not be able to access the account without a physical card, even if they have its details. The ability to unlock via NFC was previously available to customers who had blocked their profile themselves. Now this method also works to restore access, reducing the risk of fraud and simplifying the customer experience.
