E-scooter users in Moscow are required to undergo verification on the mos.ru portal starting this spring in order to use two-wheeled vehicles. Authorities believe that the innovation will improve road safety.
For those who already have a full account on mos.ru, it will be enough to log in via Mos ID in the rental service application. If there is no profile, registration will be required. It can be done through an account on the "Gosuslugi", "Sber" ID, T-ID (T-Bank), VTB ID or "Alfa" ID portals.
Some e-scooter users regularly violate traffic rules. This leads to accidents. Verification will allow identifying such violators in advance and restricting their access to rentals.
Only people over 18 years old will be able to rent an e-scooter. A fine of 100 thousand rubles is provided for violations.
Since 2024, rental scooters in Moscow have begun to be equipped with numbers to record violations using road cameras. According to the Moscow Department of Transportation, scooter drivers received 155 thousand fines, and 135 thousand accounts were blocked. Over the past year, 5 million people have used e-scooters in the capital.
