The classic "Niva", known as Lada Niva Legend, will receive a front airbag in the second half of 2025. This was announced by the head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov.
According to him, there will be two airbags in total, but both will be on the driver's side. First, the system will be installed in the back of the driver's seat, and then a full-fledged front airbag will appear.
Moreover, the front airbag will appear in the classic "Niva" for the first time in the 48th year of its life cycle — to achieve this, the car will be fitted with a new steering wheel from Lada Granta.
Since last year, front airbags have also been installed in the top configuration of the Niva Travel SUV for an additional 38 thousand rubles.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the configuration of Iskra became known. In the basic version, the car will receive two airbags.
