Mass production of the new Lada Iskra sedan will start on April 19, 2025, exactly 55 years after the release of the first "Zhiguli". This was announced by AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov.
The Lada Iskra model will be launched at the Volga Automobile Plant, where the VAZ-2101 "kopeyka" went into production in 1970. Initially, the Lada Iskra will be offered to customers with 1.6-liter engines with a capacity of 90 and 106 hp, with manual transmission and a CVT.
Later, a version with a 1.8-liter engine may appear at dealerships, but at least in 2026. The official start of sales of Lada Iskra will begin in May.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Iskra configuration became known. In the basic version, the car will receive two airbags.
