Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant to Start Production of Airbags for UAZ and Sollers Vehicles

In 2025, UAZ will launch a full cycle of passive safety systems production

Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) will begin mass production of passive safety systems, including airbags, in 2025.

An important feature of the new production will be the full manufacturing cycle — from casting the steering wheel frame from a magnesium alloy and sewing the airbags to assembling the control units. Airbags will be installed on both UAZ vehicles and Sollers models, including pickups. In the future, the products may be supplied to other Russian automakers as well.

This step will strengthen UAZ's position in the field of auto components and increase the safety level of domestic cars, as well as help reduce dependence on imported supplies.
