The cabin of the anti-aircraft missile system is protected by armored plates. The S-500 is considered one of Russia's most advanced air defense systems.
The S-350 Vityaz SAM system was developed by specialists from NPO Almaz to replace the S-300PS and Buk-M1-2 systems. The complex is capable of engaging aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, drones, and tactical ballistic missiles.
Defence blog author Dylan Malyasov referred to information from the analytical center The Military Balance. Experts at the center claim that Russia has only six S-350 Vityaz SAM systems.
S-350 specifications:
- Number of simultaneously engaged targets — aerodynamic (16), ballistic (12)
- Number of simultaneously guided missiles — 32
- Range of engagement of aerodynamic targets — up to 60 km
- Range of engagement of ballistic targets — up to 30 km
- Time to bring the SAM system into combat readiness — 5 min.
