AvtoVAZ is currently not in negotiations with the French company Renault. This was reported by the press service of the Togliatti company in response to a question about whether negotiations are currently underway with the former partner about its return to Russia.
There are currently no contacts with the former partner.
Earlier, Renault CEO Luca de Meo stated that the company does not rule out returning to Russia. He noted that buying back a controlling stake in AvtoVAZ is not a priority, but the brand's management is open to discussing business opportunities.
Renault sold its Russian business and a 68% stake in AvtoVAZ in 2022, retaining an option to buy back its stake within six years.
