Russian Railways (RZD) is testing a new Telegram bot for issuing tickets for suburban trains.
The "RZD Commuter Trains" bot allows you to issue various travel documents, including tickets without assigned seats, discounted tickets for schoolchildren and students, as well as receipts for the transportation of animals, luggage, and bicycles. Payment is possible both with a bank card and through the Faster Payments System (FPS).
For now, the bot is only available to passengers of four suburban passenger companies: BPPC, VVPPC, SPK, and Sodruzhestvo, which serve 25 regions of Russia. A decision on scaling the project to the entire RZD network will be made after evaluating the test results.
The Telegram bot could become a convenient tool for passengers, simplifying the process of purchasing tickets and other services, as well as allowing them to pay quickly and conveniently.
RZD announced in December 2023 that the "RZD Passengers" application had been removed from the App Store.
