The Ground Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran have taken into account the experience of the Russian Armed Forces and have begun to equip T-72S tanks and BMP-2s with "mangals" to protect against drones. Photos of the modernized armored vehicles were taken during the large-scale exercise "Great Prophet-19" (Payambar-e Azam 19).
Iran received a license to assemble T-72S and BMP-2 in the 1990s. According to some reports, the Islamic Republic has 480 T-72 tanks in service.
