The ground forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran have received a batch of Russian Orsis T-5000M sniper rifles. The weapons were spotted at the "Great Prophet-19" (Payambar-e Azam 19) exercises.
The ORSIS T-5000M is considered one of the most accurate rifles in the world. It is characterized by a quick return to the line of sight, high reliability, and ergonomics.
The rifle barrel has a thread for installing a muzzle brake-compensator or a silent shooting device (suppressor).
About the Orsis T-5000M rifle
Sniper rifles are available in two versions:
- with a standard bolt group for the .308 Winchester/7.62 × 51 mm cartridge;
- with an extended bolt group for the .338 Lapua Magnum/8.6 × 70 mm or 300 Winchester Magnum/7.62 × 67 mm cartridge
The initial bullet velocity is 925 m/s, the effective range is 1500 meters, and the accuracy at a distance of 100 m is no more than 0.2 MOA.
