The new 16th package of EU sanctions, which is planned to be adopted by February 24, does not include a complete ban on the import of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG), Politico reports.
The sanctions package also includes:
- ban on the import of primary aluminum;
- inclusion in the sanctions list of 73 vessels belonging to the so-called shadow fleet;
- restriction of transactions with certain Russian ports and airports;
- disconnection of about 10 Russian banks from the international SWIFT system;
- ban on the export of chromium and a number of chemicals;
- measures to restrict the servicing of the Russian oil and gas industry;
Sanctions will affect the sale of game consoles, joysticks and flight simulators. According to European diplomats, the Russian military may use these devices to control drones. Since none of the popular consoles are produced in the European Union, it may be a question of prohibiting their resale.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the European Union decided to ban the supply of Xbox and PlayStation consoles to Russia.
