The head of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, denied rumors about the need to formalize the refusal of the digital ruble through the MFC.
According to her, the use of the digital ruble is a voluntary choice of citizens, just as people now independently decide whether to use cash or non-cash funds.
People will decide for themselves whether they want to use it or not. There are rumors that you need to specifically go to the MFC and refuse to use the digital ruble. This is complete nonsense.
She stressed that no one will force citizens to use the digital form of money, and this tool will remain one of the alternatives along with cash and non-cash payments.
Earlier, the Central Bank reported that myths about the digital ruble are spreading in social networks and messengers through mass mailings. Russians are urged to categorically avoid using digital rubles, fill out applications to refuse their connection, and are frightened by the fact that the transition to a new form of money will be forced. As a result, some citizens are trying to submit an application to refuse the digital ruble through the MFC.
