Tank gun barrel covers: fabric to protect against thermal imagers developed at Chelyabinsk State University

The material is used by the Russian military to protect equipment

Scientists from Chelyabinsk State University (ChelSU) and specialists from the Trading House (TD) "Avtoteplo" have developed a material that hides equipment from thermal imagers. This was announced by the rector of the university, Sergei Taskaev.

The development was presented at the Forum of Volunteers and Volunteers "Patriots of the Urals" in Miass.

From it, for example, we make covers for the barrel of a tank gun - the hottest and most noticeable part of the tank.

The material hides stationary and mobile objects from thermal imagers. Russian military personnel are already using this fabric in combat conditions.

Earlier, the rector of ChelSU spoke about a unique homing head for missile systems. It was also shown at the forum in Miass.
