The Nizhny Novgorod-based company Rida, known for its work in creating protected vehicles, has presented a long-wheelbase armored modification of the Aurus Komendant SUV. The SUV, extended by half a meter, is capable of withstanding small arms fire and grenade explosions.
The extended Aurus Komendant is 500 mm longer than the standard version. Passengers in the rear have more legroom, and the interior features a rising partition, like in limousines.
The new Aurus Komendant is equipped with an explosion-resistant armored capsule made of 7-mm armored steel, as well as 50-mm armored glass. The vehicle is capable of withstanding bullets from an AKM assault rifle with a heat-strengthened core, as well as from an SVD sniper rifle. Protection level — B6/B7. In addition, this SUV can withstand the explosion of a hand grenade, such as an F-1 or DM-51.
In addition, the SUV has special wheels and reinforced door hinges, making it reliable in all conditions.
It was previously reported that Aurus premium-class cars will receive Russian tires. The domestic manufacturer of luxury cars plans to partially switch to tires developed by Gislaved, which is part of the Cordiant holding.
