The small anti-submarine ship (MPK) of the Northern Fleet (SF) of project 1124 "Brest" conducted air defense exercises during exercises in the Barents Sea, the Ministry of Defense press service reported.
According to the legend of the exercises, the crew of the "Brest" repelled an air raid by a mock enemy and destroyed a small-sized air target heading towards the ship.
The naval sailors fired at a simulated air target with the Osa-MA anti-aircraft missile system (SAM), as well as the AK-176M artillery mount and the AK-630M rapid-fire 30-mm artillery system.
MPK project 1124 "Albatross" are designed to search, detect, classify and destroy submarines in the near sea and coastal zone. They are also armed with two 533-mm torpedo tubes and 12-barrel RBU-6000 rocket launchers.
