On average, the quality control service finds 100 defects in each assembled pre-production Lada Iskra car. This was reported by the insider public Avtograd on the VKontakte social network.
By the start of mass production, scheduled for April, the number of defects should decrease. A larger batch of Lada Iskra than all previous ones is scheduled for release next week.
In the AVTOVAZ model range, Lada Iskra will take a place between Lada Granta and the more expensive and spacious Lada Vesta. The car will be available in sedan, station wagon and Cross station wagon bodies.
The new model will be offered with three power plant options: a basic 1.6-liter engine with 90 horsepower, which will be combined with a five-speed manual gearbox. A 1.6-liter engine producing 106 horsepower will be available with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
The Cross version will feature three headrests on the rear seat back, a Lada Vesta multi-steering wheel, electric windows on all doors, air conditioning and an audio system. Lada Iskra will be available in four colors: gray, brown, crimson and white.
Earlier it became known that NPP ITELMA, a manufacturer of auto components, developed a new control and diagnostics system for electrical equipment for the Lada Iskra car assembly line by order of AVTOVAZ. The system is a hardware and software complex for complete testing of electrical and electronic systems of a car in automatic mode.
