AvtoVAZ did not sell any e-Largus electric vehicles in 2024. Dmitry Kostromin, the company's Vice President for Sales and Marketing, explained the difficulties associated with this project.
According to the manager, the price of the e-Largus electric vehicle turned out to be "difficult to implement" given the competition from Chinese brands.
The issue is price. The prices we announced are, let's say, difficult to implement for this car, especially given the competition from Chinese manufacturers. It's good that the recycling fee for all electric vehicles was raised from January 1 this year, now we'll see how the market plays this out.
Lada e-Largus is the first Russian electric vehicle with a domestically produced, deeply localized battery. It was first introduced in 2022, and mass production was launched on September 25, 2024. With subsidies, the car will cost 2,990,000 rubles.
