The new power plant will provide the combat aircraft with a dramatic leap in capabilities

Russia has offered India to upgrade its Su-30MKI fighter fleet by installing a new power plant, which is equipped on the latest fifth-generation Su-57 combat aircraft.

Currently, the Indian Air Force has 272 Su-30MKI aircraft with AL-31 engines, known for their reliability. However, the AL-41, used in the Su-57, will provide a significant leap in the aircraft's capabilities.

It is stated that the AL-41 provides improved maneuverability, boasts increased fuel efficiency, and an optimized thrust-to-weight ratio.

The Su-30MKI multirole fighter in India is produced under a Russian license by the state corporation Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. It forms the basis of the republic's frontline aviation.
