После 9 лет простоя: АвтоВАЗ возобновил работу окрасочного производства «ВИС-Авто»

The company is once again producing up to 30 painted bodies per shift

AvtoVAZ has resumed operation of the painting production at its subsidiary, VIS-Auto, which had been idle since 2015. Company President Maxim Sokolov visited the plant in Togliatti to personally assess the modernization.

After a long period of inactivity, the site underwent a major renovation, and now the workshops are back in operation on the painting line. Up to 30 bodies of Lada Granta vans and Niva Bronto vehicles are painted here per shift, including options with metallic enamels. Previously, the welded bodies were sent to the main AvtoVAZ plant, but now their processing and final assembly are carried out directly at VIS-Auto, which significantly reduces logistics costs.

The pilot production at this site was founded in 1986 to test technologies for the production of new Lada models. In its best years, the company had a full-fledged assembly line with a capacity of up to 15,000 cars per year and a staff of more than 2,000 employees.

However, in 2015, under the leadership of Bo Andersson, the plant was declared unprofitable and mothballed, and used in subsequent years as warehouse space. Now, nine years later, AvtoVAZ has decided to resume operations.
