Plant in Chelyabinsk to Implement 2,000 Industrial Robots to Automate Production

The company wants to solve the problem of staff shortages

The Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant (ChKPZ) has launched a large-scale automation project. The company will install 2,000 industrial robots. In early 2025, it is planned to automate the machining shop.

Robots at the plant are already helping to service production lines: they load products into machines, transfer them further, and the process is controlled by an operator. Safety at the enterprise is a priority: each work area is fenced off. Robots cannot start working if there is a person nearby.

The Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant began implementing projects using robots in December 2024. At that time, a hot stamping press was launched at the company's facilities. It works in conjunction with several robots. Portal robots with machine vision also work at the plant. They are created at an enterprise adjacent to ChKPZ.

The plant is confident that the use of robots will help solve the problem of staff shortages and increase productivity.
