It is planned to produce more than 110,000 cars at the former Volkswagen plant by 2025. In addition, contract assembly of about 25,000 HAVAL cars is planned at the former Peugeot-Citroën plant. This was announced by the Governor of the Kaluga Region, Vladislav Shapsha.

We also have trucks — more than two thousand cars have already been produced, and this work will also be continued, so we are returning to our previous indicators.

All foreign car companies that worked in the Kaluga Region are now owned by Russian investors. Production at their plants will resume from mid-2024.

According to Governor Shapsha, the region's industry has reached pre-crisis levels. Over the past two years, production has grown by more than 10%. According to him, the gross regional product increased by 5% compared to last year. The volume of industrial production exceeded one trillion rubles.

Earlier it became known that in Kaluga, on the basis of the "PSMA Rus" plant, the company "Automobile Technologies" plans to increase production and start assembling cars from China.
