Minehunter "Yakov Balyaev" Destroys BECs off the Coast of Kamchatka with AK-306 Artillery Fire

The exercises of the Project 12700 ship took place in the waters of the Avacha Bay of the Pacific Ocean

The "Yakov Balyaev" minesweeper of project 12700 "Alexandrite" of the Pacific Fleet conducted exercises to destroy unmanned boats (BEC), mines and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the waters of the Avacha Bay of the Pacific Ocean in Kamchatka. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

The crew of "Yakov Balyaev" used a 30-mm AK-306 artillery installation and a 12.7-mm Kord heavy machine gun to eliminate targets.

The sailors also conducted a concurrent search for mines, using the Livadia-ME mine detection station and the Diez sonar system installed on board.

The minesweepers of project 12700 "Alexandrite" are a series of Russian naval mine defense ships of the near sea zone. The ships of the series have a unique, the world's largest hull made of monolithic fiberglass, formed by vacuum infusion.
