One of the T-72B3M received the maximum configuration — a protective "visor" above the turret, electronic warfare systems, as well as a mine trawl and a "cape" that reduces visibility. Last week, footage of a T-90M tank with the Arena-M APS also appeared on the Web.
The Arena-M includes a radar station (RLS) with high noise immunity, special ammunition in the mines around the perimeter of the tank turret, and an onboard computer.
The radar detects an enemy projectile, anti-tank missile, or grenade aimed at the tank, calculates their trajectory, and fires a protective ammunition that destroys the target in flight with a beam of damaging elements.
At the same time, the effectiveness of Arena-M against kamikaze drones approaching the target at different angles is currently unknown.
