The small missile ship (MRK) "Grad" of project 21631 "Buyan-M" during exercises in the Baltic Sea performed firing with naval artillery at sea and air targets. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The personnel of "Grad" with the help of a standard naval artillery installation and large-caliber machine guns destroyed models simulating floating mines, and also eliminated air and surface targets.
In addition, the MRK crew practiced electronic missile launches with the "Caliber" complex at targets simulating warships of a conditional enemy, as well as coastal military infrastructure facilities.

MRK project 21631 are multi-purpose ships equipped with the most modern models of artillery, missile, anti-sabotage, anti-aircraft and electronic weapons.
The ship's 30-mm automatic artillery installation can perform tasks to destroy aircraft, helicopters and other enemy air attack weapons, to defeat small-sized sea surface and coastal targets located at a considerable distance from the coastline.
The purpose of the ships of this project is to protect and defend the economic zone of the state. The ships are carriers of Caliber and Onyx cruise missiles.
