A Moscow-based ritual service company has taken a step into the future. It has offered its clients to scatter the ashes of the deceased in the stratosphere. This is the second layer of the Earth's atmosphere.
The stratosphere is located above the troposphere and below the mesosphere. It begins at an altitude of approximately 10-15 kilometers above sea level and extends to 50 kilometers.
Muscovites can send a capsule with ashes to a height of 30 km using a large weather balloon. The unusual funeral process will be observed live. After the flight is completed, the company will provide a video recording.
This unusual service is not cheap. Its cost is 350 thousand rubles. However, for the ritual services sector, this is a relatively affordable price.
Some users expressed dissatisfaction in the comments, fearing that the ashes would be dropped on passers-by. The company's website assured that "ashes scattered in the stratosphere, for the most part, dissolve in the vastness of space."
