Развернут аэродромы на льдинах Арктики: Ростех представил новую систему для посадки малой авиации

The complex allows the use of unprepared sites for aircraft landing

The "High-Precision Systems" holding (part of Rostec Group) has for the first time presented a new small-sized information and landing system (ILS) to ensure safe landings of small aircraft in difficult weather conditions. The compact size of the complex allows the use of almost any flat area as an airfield, including drifting ice floes, the state corporation's press service reported.

The complex includes two interacting blocks. The first is integrated into the aircraft's onboard equipment. The second is deployed on the ground on special tripods.

The equipment is highly accurate: it determines the coordinates of the aircraft in a given direction with an accuracy of up to 1 meter. This will allow pilots to safely land in limited visibility, such as during a blizzard.

The ILS is relevant for remote regions with harsh climates, where aviation can use unprepared "field" airfields and sites. The complex can also be used for landing on moving objects (ships or ice floes). This opens up new opportunities for scientific expeditions in the Arctic.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the airport in Cheboksary received a new passenger terminal.
