Import substitution in action: KAMAZ K5 series to receive Russian components

The vehicles will replace the foreign fuel intake, radio antenna, windshield wiper drive and lever with brush

Vladimir holding company NPK "Avtopribor" received a state grant for the development of production in the format of an import substitution program. It is planned to produce a number of components for KAMAZ trucks of the flagship K5 series based on the Mercedes-Benz Actros and Arocs cab.

The list of new parts includes a windshield wiper drive, a lever with a brush, a radio antenna and a fuel intake. Windshield wiper blades for K5 will be the largest among all Russian trucks - their length will be 800 mm.

Special attention is paid to the fuel intake, which combines the functions of fuel supply, its heating in winter and data transmission about the system operation via the CAN bus. This will improve the efficiency of the system and improve the operational characteristics of trucks.

Production and supply of the new range of Russian components will begin in 2025

Earlier www1.ru reported that the newest curtain-sided KAMAZ K5 was presented in Russia.
