KAMAZ-54902 and KAMAZ-65658 are new K5 series transport vehicles designed for transporting goods between cities over short distances. According to the manufacturers, they both have an original exhaust gas and neutralization system, an engine air supply system, new suspension, cab fairing design, and chassis design. Both KAMAZ-54902 and KAMAZ-65658 received a "KAMA DIESEL" power unit with a capacity of 400 hp.
KAMAZ-54902 is a two-axle tractor with a total weight of the towed semi-trailer of 36,250 kg. The height of the fifth wheel coupling is 1150 mm, and the load on the fifth wheel is 11250 kg. It has a compact cab with a low roof and one sleeping berth.
KAMAZ-65658 is a universal three-axle tractor on which various types of superstructures can be mounted. In particular, this model may be in demand among food retailers. The last axle is a lifting axle, which is sometimes called a "lazy axle." It reduces fuel consumption when the car is running without cargo, and in winter, a "compressed" axle will increase its cross-country ability.
PJSC "KAMAZ" notes that 11 new KAMAZ-54902s were assembled at the automobile plant in June, and 1,900 units will be assembled by the end of the year. It is said about KAMAZ-65658 that the growth rate of its production is "more modest," but it is not specified how much more modest.
