ONPP "Tekhnologiya" named after A. G. Romashin (part of the Rostec State Corporation) will supply more than 650 ultra-strong glasses for subway train driver cabins by 2026.
The glasses will be installed on 60 new trains in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, and Nizhny Novgorod.
The windshield, manufactured using thermally hardened triplex technology, can withstand the impact of an object weighing 1 kg at speeds up to 180 km/h. Each head car of such trains will have six glasses installed.
For the "Moscow-2024" series trains, additional electric heating of the glazing is provided, which allows the trains to be used safely at any time of the year.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Rostec had started producing new glasses for the driver's cab in the Moscow-2024 subway trains and Baltiets cars in the St. Petersburg subway.
