According to Chemezov, the company hopes to complete the aircraft's certification tests in 2025.

We need to complete all certification tests now. I hope we will complete all the flights this year. There are a lot of flights. And, starting next year, serial production will begin.

The MC-21 is a Russian project for a short-to-medium-range passenger aircraft that will replace the Tu-154 and the Tu-204 family in the domestic market. It can also be an alternative to foreign-made aircraft. The aircraft is designed for flights up to 6,000 km. The aircraft may also receive a long-range version.

Earlier, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin reported that the authorities expect that the first deliveries of the domestic MC-21 aircraft to airlines could begin as early as 2025.
