FAS launches investigation against MTS over controversial home internet advertising

MTS advertising will be checked by the Federal Antimonopoly Service: the operator faces a fine

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has initiated an investigation against MTS. The regulator suspects the company of violating advertising laws.

In the home internet advertising that the company placed in October - November 2024 on Yandex, the FAS found incorrect comparisons. It was claimed that "MTS is the best home internet in Moscow," with high speed.

The FAS emphasized that when placing the advertisement, objective criteria for such a comparison were not specified - consumers could be misled, and the company could gain unjustified advantages over competitors. If MTS's guilt is proven, the operator faces a fine.
