A rare astronomical phenomenon - an ejection of black plasma - was recorded on the Sun on January 22. It lasted for three hours. This was reported on the website of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IKI) and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISZF).
The flare ejected and scattered a cold prominence with a large amount of neutral hydrogen across the corona. Ultimately, the substance of the prominence was completely destroyed and disappeared, but while this process was underway, a black cloud of plasma was observed in the corona for about three hours.
Sergey Bogachev, Head of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory at IKI RAS, noted that this event is characterized by low energy. It is remarkable only for its unusualness and mystical beauty.
As a space weather phenomenon, it did not affect forecasts or state assessments in any way. In this case, almost nothing left the corona - the bulk fell back onto the Sun.
Earlierwww1.ru reported that a flare of the penultimate power classoccurred on the Sun.
