Lorkh Federal Research Center Develops Breakthrough Potato Growing Technology

The technology has already been successfully tested on various potato varieties

Scientists at the Lorkh Federal Research Center have developed an innovative potato growing technology that ensures high yields, resistance to weather conditions and pests.

This involves the use of moisture-retaining sorbents, additional mineral fertilizers (such as sulfur and selenium) and special agricultural techniques, including optimization of row spacing.

The technology has been successfully tested on various varieties. Its use has shown an increase in yield and improved taste characteristics.

The goal of the scientists is to create potatoes with a low starch content, a high level of protein with beneficial amino acids and antioxidant properties. Work on breeding a new variety is ongoing.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the MIPT and YSTU have developed a drug that increases grain yield by 50%.
