The "National Taxi Council" (NST) association has appealed to the Russian government with a request to consider launching a preferential car leasing program for taxi companies.
In a letter sent to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on January 17, 2025, the NST proposes reducing car leasing rates for taxi companies to 18%, which will ensure a minimum business profitability of 6-7%.
The implementation of the program will require an annual allocation of 7.3 billion rubles in state subsidies. When forming the application, the NST estimates the average cost of one vehicle at 1.9 million rubles, and the industry's need to update the fleet at 60,000 cars per year.
Relevant ministries have already reviewed the letter, and the government has confirmed that the proposal will be considered.
Earlier, www1.ru reported on the main reasons for the increase in taxi prices.
