New Telegram Scam: Attackers Ask to Vote via Link

The Ministry of Internal Affairs warned Russians about Telegram scams using phishing links from familiar contacts

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has reported a new Telegram scam. It is related to conducting fake votes. By clicking on a link from a familiar contact, a Telegram user risks losing their account.

Scammers send messages on behalf of contacts who have not been active for a long time, asking to vote for a friend. The voting link leads to a phishing site. Clicking on the link leads to the loss of the account in the messenger.

Representatives of the department recommend users not to click on suspicious links and be careful online.
