The speed of the Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber can theoretically allow the aircraft to be adapted for the use of the Kinzhal hypersonic complex. This opinion was expressed in an interview with News.ru by military expert Viktor Litovkin.
He drew attention to the fact that at the moment the only aviation carrier of the Kinzhal is the MiG-31 fighter. To obtain hypersonic speed, the Kinzhal needs to be accelerated to certain limits, and then directed towards the target.
Previously it was the MiG-31, because it has a very high speed. The Su-34 has a slightly lower speed, but, apparently, it is sufficient on afterburners to launch the Kinzhal at a hypersonic speed of 10 Mach.
Litovkin emphasized that no existing missile defense and air defense systems are capable of intercepting the Kinzhal. The main feature of the missile is its hypersonic speed, which allows the Kinzhals to fly at 2000 km.
On Monday, January 13, the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper announced the first use of the Kinzhal complex from a Su-34 fighter. However, a few hours later, the publication removed this information from its website and apologized to readers for misleading them.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian military replaced the liners of the artillery gun barrel and increased its accuracy.
