The "Ushkuynik" Research and Production Center (RPC) has launched mass production of the fiber-optic FPV drone "Knyaz Vandal Novgorodsky" with a thermal imager, according to the head of the center, Alexey Chadaev.
The device has gone to the military in series production, and not just as experimental models, as it was before. Now it's up to the soldiers who use this drone.
The "Knyaz Vandal Novgorodsky" FPV drone with fiber-optic communication was first tested in combat conditions in August 2024. The UAV is not affected by electronic warfare equipment.
The tactical and technical characteristics of the "Knyaz Vandal Novgorodsky" FPV drone have not been officially disclosed.
With a high degree of probability, the drone, like other small FPV quadcopters, has a total mass with a battery of up to 1.5-1.9 kg, is capable of speeds up to 100-140 km/h, and can carry a warhead weighing up to 3-4 kg. The mass of the fiber optic spools themselves is unknown.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a new launcher has been developed for the Lancet series kamikaze drone.
