The Aurus Merlon electric bike has encountered a problem - its range is considered insufficient, according to the Telegram channel "Russian Automobile etc." In this regard, it is planned to convert the motorcycle to an internal combustion engine (ICE), which will require a complete redesign of the bike.
For this purpose, an engine that has not yet entered mass production is being considered - the Gimura 1000s three-cylinder engine from Kazan. It is designed for light off-road vehicles, such as snowmobiles and ATVs. It will be installed longitudinally, as the engine does not have power take-off from the middle of the crankshaft.
Experts express doubts about the quality of the engine: it is produced in small series and, as a rule, the quality of such engines leaves much to be desired.
As the Telegram channel "Russian Automobile etc" notes, mass production should not remain without investment, and NAMI will have to help.
