Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has approved the concept of a state system for countering crimes committed using information technology.
An important part of the system will be a digital platform for exchanging information between law enforcement agencies, the Central Bank, credit institutions and telecom operators to identify participants in fraud.
The concept also provides for the creation of a mechanism for suspending transactions with money used in criminal activity, and improving criminal legislation, including new definitions of crimes in the digital sphere.
Particular attention is paid to raising awareness among citizens, especially the elderly, about the methods of fraudsters. For this purpose, it is planned to use social advertising with the participation of famous personalities.
The plan for the implementation of the concept should be developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs jointly with the Prosecutor General's Office, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and the Bank of Russia within six months.
