A geomagnetic storm on Earth has reached level G3 ("strong"). This was reported by the Institute of Applied Geophysics.
The degree ofdisturbance of the Earth's magnetic field is currently at level G3, which means "strong" on a scale of five indicators, where G5 is "extremely strong" and G1 is "weak."
At the maximum storm level G5, damage to transformers and destruction of energy systems are possible on Earth. Spacecraft may experience problems with orientation and communication channels with the satellite.
At level G3, problems may arise in energy systems on Earth, including false alarms in safety systems and "boiling" of oil transformers.
Disruptions in satellite and low-frequency radio navigation, and interruptions in high-frequency radio communications are also possible. Auroras can be observed in mid-latitudes.
