Rare and unique footage has appeared online of a salvo training firing of the Gibka-S military anti-aircraft missile system using two of the most modern 9M336 Verba anti-aircraft guided missiles simultaneously at a simulated enemy target.
The video showed how the system detects a target high in the air thanks to the radar and immediately makes a paired launch of missiles.
Analyst Evgeny Damantsev noted that the Gibka-S implemented the "fire and forget" principle, as in the American AN/TWQ-1 Avenger SAM system with FIM-92 Block I missiles with bispectral optoelectronic homing heads based on IR and ultraviolet sensors.
After launching at the first detected heat-contrast target, launches of 9M336 missiles can be carried out at other detected targets, which significantly increases the fire performance of the Gibka-S SAM system.
The radar station detects targets at a range of up to 40 km and an altitude of 10 km, the maximum speed is 700 m/s. The guaranteed communication range in the absence of electronic countermeasures is 8 km.
The Gibka-S anti-aircraft missile system works to cover the advance of advanced detachments on the front. As part of a mobile fire group, there are two combat vehicles based on the Tigr vehicle: the first is equipped with a turret mount for four Verba anti-aircraft missiles, and the second is equipped with a radar.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Kalasnikov showed unique footage of tests of the latest remote-controlled ATGM Konkurs-M.
