Мошеннический бум: россиян предупредили о «новогодней» схеме аферистов в Telegram

Attackers have started massively stealing Russian accounts using gifts

Attackers are using New Year's presents in the form of premium subscriptions to massively hack accounts in the Telegram messenger. Phishing links are embedded in messages sent by fraudsters.

The phishing message states: "You have been sent a New Year's gift: Telegram Premium for a whole year! Click to activate." The fake gift is accompanied by an image created using a neural network. But if the user clicks on it and authorizes, they will lose access to their account.

Fraudsters have become more active before the New Year. Earlier, www1.ru reported that one of the most popular schemes is creating fake websites offering goods at discounted prices as part of New Year's sales. Links to them are sent through social networks or spam to email.
