«Умные» датчики МТС защитят люки канализационных колодцев на Сахалине от кражи

If the cover is damaged or tilted more than 30 degrees, the sensor automatically sends a signal to the dispatcher

MTS has implemented a revolutionary solution to protect sewer manhole covers in the Aniva district of the Sakhalin region. We tell you more about what the company came up with.

MTS specialists, working on behalf of Aniva Communal Systems, installed manhole cover opening monitoring sensors in the city of Aniva. The sensors operate on the basis of the Internet of Things technology. They allow real-time monitoring of the condition of the covers.

In the event that the cover is damaged or tilted more than 30 degrees, the sensor automatically sends a signal to the dispatcher, who promptly sends a team to check and fix the problem.

The "smart" sensors installed on the manhole covers operate in the NB-IoT frequency range — an industrial Internet of Things network specifically designed for "smart" city elements.
Shamil Chekmarev, MTS Director in the Sakhalin Region

According to him, they can work up to 10 years without recharging. Chekmarev is confident that such solutions can be used not only in the urban environment, but also in enterprises

Remote monitoring of manholes not only prevents traffic accidents and unauthorized access to utility systems, but also reduces the risk of injury to citizens and pets.
