New division of the Skolkovo Foundation will be created in early 2025

In early 2025, a new division of the Skolkovo Foundation (part of VEB.RF) will be created in Russia to assume the government's agency functions for coordinating science in the field of artificial intelligence. Its work will be supervised by the Ministry of Economic Development.

The division's tasks include developing training programs for scientists and forming standards for the use of AI in scientific research, coordinating the activities of existing research centers in the field of AI, and organizing the selection of new ones. Ministry of Economic Development.

Russia is among the top five global leaders in the number of generative models, and the importance of AI for the domestic economy is increasing with each year. The national project "Data Economy" envisages a GDP growth of 11 trillion rubles by 2030 through artificial intelligence technologies.

The foundation's press service added that most AI projects are related to information security and medicine. Skolkovo residents are also developing solutions for industries with high potential for using AI technologies — construction, industry, agriculture, logistics, and aviation.
