The first laboratory of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) was opened in the Yakutia Technopark on an area of over 800 square meters, the regional government reported.
The laboratory organizes the development and testing of promising unmanned aerial vehicles. Technopark residents will be able to assemble drones, develop their own models, software and components in specially equipped workshops.
During the opening ceremony, a presentation was also held of a number of projects in the field of UAS, including the development and production of agrodrones, ground-based unmanned technologies, racing and educational FPV drones, as well as training citizens for military needs, reflashing software and servicing tactical UAVs.
Yakutia is completing the development of a regional UAS development program for the period up to 2030. The program will define the main directions of the industry development until 2028 and will be aimed at introducing drones into the real sector of the economy. A key element of this program will be the creation of the "Polar" UAS scientific and production center.
