В России подскочат цены на мобильный интернет в 2025 году

Reason — Transition to Domestic Equipment

From 2025, the cost of mobile internet in Russia may increase due to the transition to domestic equipment. In the period from 2025 to 2027, more than 16 billion rubles will be allocated for the development, testing, and implementation of own base stations for 2G, 4G, and 5G networks. By 2029, their share should reach 100%, which means that in four years, the Russian Federation will completely abandon the use of towers from Nokia, Ericsson, and other foreign manufacturers.

Denis Kuskov, CEO of Telecom Daily agency, stated that domestic stations produced by Yadro and Irteya companies will cost significantly more than foreign counterparts. In this regard, operators may be forced to raise tariffs, as they will need additional resources to support the Russian infrastructure.

The base stations that will start appearing in 2025-2026 from Yadro and Irteya will cost much more. And, naturally, the development of prices will largely depend on how much the state will subsidize this issue.

The introduction of Russian equipment into the work of telecom operators is aimed at achieving a common goal for both the state and the operators themselves — to ensure the stable operation of the network, which will not depend on sanctions or problems with the supply of foreign equipment and the maintenance of foreign software.

At the same time, users will not notice significant changes, except for a possible increase in the cost of services. For example, 2G and 4G networks will provide similar capabilities: the internet speed will remain approximately at the same level, and the coverage will be approximately the same.

Earlier www1.ru already warned that in 2025, Russian hosting providers plan to increase the cost of their services by 5-10%, and in some cases — up to 15%. This is due to the need to implement the system of operational-search measures (SORM) on their infrastructure, as well as changes in tax legislation.
