The main battle tank of the Vietnamese Armed Forces, the T-90SK (a modification of the T-90 "Vladimir"), which was assembled at the Russian enterprise "Uralvagonzavod", was shown at the international exhibition Vietnam Defence Expo 2024 in Hanoi. This is reported by Army Recognition.
The T-90SK is equipped with a V-92S2 turbocharged diesel engine with a capacity of 1000 horsepower. The tank reaches speeds of up to 60 km/h and travels up to 550 km without refueling. The combat vehicle can overcome trenches 2.8 meters deep and obstacles up to 0.85 meters high.
The T-90SK has a 125-mm smoothbore gun with a rate of fire of up to 8 rounds per minute. In addition, the tank received a paired 7.62-mm PKT machine gun and a 12.7-mm anti-aircraft machine gun.
The combat vehicle is protected by multi-layer composite armor. It is equipped with "Kontakt-5" dynamic protection, which is resistant to kinetic projectiles and anti-tank missiles.
